1969 Holden Hurricane

Holden showed of the beautiful Holden Torana GTR-X concept car in 1970, but the Australian car company first created the Holden Hurricane, a concept car that debuted in 1969. The experimental car was Holden’s first concept car and had a distinctive wedge shape with a total height of just 38 inches.

It contained a mid-mounted 253 horsepower 4.2-liter Aussie V8 engine and some futuristic features like a powered canopy, digital displays, a rear view CCTV screen, automatic climate control and “astronaut” power elevator seats which had the ability to rise up and forwards to help with entry and exit.

Holden Design recently restored the Hurricane from the ground up and the result is pretty stunning. The car has some great lines and we can’t help but love that orange metallic paint.
