Holden Commodore

Not to be confused with Hudson Commodore.

The Holden Commodore is a car manufactured since 1978 by Holden, the Australian subsidiary of General Motors (GM). Manufacturing of the Commodore takes place in Australia and formerly in New Zealand. In the mid-1970s, Holden replaced the long-serving Kingswood and Premier nameplates with a smaller, Opel-based model re-engineered for Australian conditions. This continued until 2006 with the launch of the fourth and final generation Commodore, which employed an Australian developed platform.
